We're currently in summer's prime, lot's of us (including me) are lucky enough to be jetting off on holiday or even taking vacations in our home country. So for todays post I thought what better than to go through some of my travel beauty favourites as I've just gotten back from Zakynthos and there were some things I certainly couldn't have lived without.
1) Fragrance Samples
If you risk taking full size fragrances on board an aeroplane then I salute you. Personally I wouldn't, there's too much chance of them shattering or the decorative items that adorn them falling off. But something that gives you the luxurious scent of an expensive perfume without the risk is fragrance samples. I recently discovered Clive Christian as a brand and have fallen in love with the carefully crafted scents. I was kindly sent samples of the Noble Collection and it makes for the perfect travel companion. The feminine scent is rich with notes of magnolia and other florals and makes for a gorgeous evening scent. Upon looking further into the brand one scent I am definitely interested in is a gorgeous bergamot perfume that sounds perfect for adding a touch of luxury to any outfit. Its a little heavier than the Magnolia which makes it perfect for a night time alternative. I won't lie, these fragrances are incredibly expensive but if you're looking for something beautiful to invest in, I would heavily recommend heading to Selfridges or Harrods to check them out.
2) Dry Shampoo
I don't remember the exact moment I discovered dry shampoo (in particular the one for dark hair) however I imagine it was a joyous moment. For someone who doesn't wash their hair everyday it just takes any grease or dull shine away and leaves your hair looking and smelling fantastic.
3) Sun Cream
I don't need to tell you the risks associated with not wearing sun cream. I always wear factor 30 at least when I'm in direct sunlight because the alternative of risking it has consequences I wouldn't wish upon anyone. For me I love Garnier Ambre Solaire as it doesn't have that stale coconut smell I detest and that a lot of sun cream brands tend to have. It's reasonably priced and doesn't leave you sticky or with that odd pale tint.
4) A Good Allrounder Palette
Ahh Smashbox Shape Matters palette how I adore thee. With nine eyeshadow shades, two highlights, two bronzers and three brow products it's one of the best 'allrounder' palettes in my opinion. One thing I would say is that I always tend to get a lot of fallout from the eyeshadows but aside from that, I have no complaints. The highlights in particular are impeccable. And the nature of it being all-in-one means you have more space for bikinis and lipsticks which is a winner in anyones book!
Thanks for reading and do let me know in the comments what your holiday beauty essentials are!
